çarmıh (definite accusative çarmıhı, plural çarmıhlar)

  1. cruciform mechanism used for torturing, torture stake
  2. (Christianity) cross on which Jesus is supposed to have been died.
    İslâm'a göre Meryem oğlu Îsâ çarmıha gerilmemiştir.
    According to Islam, Jesus, son of Mary, was not crucified. (not stretched on a cross)
