- Irregular comparative adjective for nouns in adjectival use, with sense "old person" e.g. γέροντας m (gérontas, “elder, old man”) & γέρος (géros), γερόντισσα f (geróntissa, “old woman”) & γριά (griá)[2]
The stem is γεροντ- + -ότερος (-óteros).
Declension[edit]
There is no absolute superlative form.
Not to conufse with term γερότερος ("stronger, more sturdy"), comparative of γερός (gerós).
