Etymology[edit]
Substantivised neuter of the passive present participle κατηγορούμενος (katigoroúmenos) of verb κατηγορώ (katigoró). Learnedly, from Ancient Greek κατηγορούμενον (katēgoroúmenon), substantivised neuter participle of κατηγορῶ (katēgorô), contracted form of κατηγορέω (katēgoréō).[1]
