Etymology[edit]
From Koine Greek χαρτοφύλαξ (khartophúlax), from χάρτης (khártēs, “piece of paper”) + φύλαξ (phúlax, “guard”) and semantic loan from French portefeuille or Italian portafoglio.[1]
