Adyghe[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From псы фэлӏэн (psə fɛlˢʼɛn, to be thirsty) +‎ лӏэн (lˢʼɛn, to die); hence literally “to be dying of thirst”. Many Circassians use this verb to describe thirst instead of псы фэлӏэн.
