  1. (transitive) to shake, to jog, to jolt, to stagger
  2. (transitive, figuratively) to move, to astonish
    սասանեալ կալsasaneal kal ― to stand abashed
  3. (transitive, figuratively) to frighten, to terrify
    սասանել զոտն ուրուք յերկրէ իւրմէsasanel zotn urukʿ yerkrē iwrmē ― to cause a person to emigrate
  4. (in the mediopassive, intransitive) to be shaken, to totter
    սասանել ի հիմանէsasanel i himanē ― to shake to its very foundations
