1. Third-person masculine plural vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of נאנח.
   • Tanach, Exodus 2:22, with translation of the King James Version:

     וַיֵּאָנְחוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִן הָעֲבֹדָה

     vayeanchú v'ne yisraél min haavodá

     and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage
