וַיָּמָת • (vayámot) (Biblical Hebrew pausal form וַיָּמֹת (vayamót))
- (And) (he/it) died: third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of מת.
- Tanach, Exodus 1:6, with translation of the King James Version:
- וַיָּמָת יוֹסֵף וְכָל אֶחָיו וְכֹל הַדּוֹר הַהוּא
- And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
