1. to forgive
   • על חטא (“Al Chet”), from the Jewish liturgy of Yom Kippur

     וְעַל כֻּלָּם אֱלֽוֹהַּ סְלִיחוֹת סְלַח־לָנוּ. מְחַל־לָנוּ. כַּפֶּר־לָנוּ׃

     v'al kulám 'elóah s'likhót s'lákh-lánu, m'khál-lánu, kapér-lánu.

     And for all these, O God of forgiveness, forgive us, pardon us, grant us atonement.
