Assuming it is Arabic, singulative noun from عَرَب (ʕarab), عَرْب (ʕarb), the verbal nouns of عَرَبَ (ʕaraba, to flow sharply). The ultimate origin is subject to discussion, see Turkish araba for the possible Turkic origin.[1]
