Cognate with Sanskrit घोष (ghoṣa), Avestan [script?] (gaoša-), Baluchi گوش (goš), Kurdish guh, Ossetian хъус (qus) / гъос (ǧos), Old Armenian loanword գոյշ (goyš) etc. Relations outside Indo-Iranian are doubtful.
