From Old Georgian [Term?] ბადე (bade). Ultimately from Proto-Kartvelian *bad- (“net, cobweb”). Cognate with Svan ბა̈დ (bäd), ბად (bad) and Laz ბოდა (boda, “net for gathering fruit”).
