From Old Georgian სიზმარი (sizmari), from Proto-Kartvelian *ზმ-. Cognate with Mingrelian ზიმაფა (zimap’a), Laz ეზმოჯე (ezmoǰe) and Svan ლიზმალუნე (lizmalune).
