Description[edit]

A minus symbol () inside a circle.

Symbol[edit]

  1. (set theory) A symbol representing symmetric difference.
  2. (mathematics) This term needs a definition. Please help out and add a definition, then remove the text {{rfdef}}.
  3. (computing, dated) ISO 2047 symbol for Escape
  4. (botany, proposed) sterile[1]

Usage notes[edit]

Some fonts do not clearly show ⊖ as a circled minus, but rather render it as a bisected circle. To force the symbol to display correctly (with a "white rim"), the sequence U+2296 FE00 is provided: ⊖︀.
