Japanese [edit]
Etymology [edit]
English, タイム (time) + アタック (attack), but not used to indicate a playthough of a video game's dedicated mode for achieving fast completions (time attack), as one would expect; instead, it is the dominant terminology for both unassisted speedruns and tool-assisted speedruns in Japan (there is no commonly used loanword deriving from the term “speedrun”).
Noun [edit]
タイムアタック (romaji taimuatakku)
