Etymology[edit]

Compound of (tai, big) +‎ した (shita, did, done), the perfective of する (suru, to do), used here to indicate a state as opposed to an action.

Usage notes[edit]

  • Although this term is formed using した (shita), the perfective or past-tense of する (suru), the imperfective or present tense form *大する (*taisuru) is not used.
