Usage notes[edit]
There is some disagreement among dictionaries regarding which is the main reading.
- The Kokugo Dai Jiten,[1] Dajisen,[5] and Daijirin[2] all list ansokunichi as the main reading, with ansokujitsu and ansokubi as alternatives.
- The Shin Meikai fifth edition lists ansokubi as the main reading, with ansokujitsu as an alternative.[4]
- The NHK Hatsuon Akusento Jiten lists ansokubi as the only reading.[3]
The Kokugo Dai Jiten says Christians today use ansokunichi, although Catholics used ansokujitsu in the past.[6]
