Usage notes[edit]

Note that the pronunciation differs depending on register, which also happens for the antonym “yesterday” and the coordinate term “today”. Corresponding in formality to ashita/asu/myōnichi “tomorrow” are kinō/kiso (rare)/sakujitsu “yesterday” and kyō/konnichi/honjitsu “today”.
