Translingual[edit]
Etymology[edit]
- 火 (fire) + 夬, the latter being derived from 缺 (lack) of which it is the phonetic element. This is coined in light of the observed lack of two of the hydrogens in alkenes and the fact that alkynes are flammable.
Han character[edit]
炔 (radical 86 火+4, 8 strokes, cangjie input 火木大 (FDK), X火木大 (XFDK), four-corner 95830)
