Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
鑌鐵
- (archaic) a type of refined iron known for its hardness (often used in the making of sword blades)
- (Xiang) aluminium
Usage notes[edit]
鑌鐵 was probably a type of carbon steel. Some have claimed that 鑌鐵 was actually Damascus steel (Wootz steel), however there is insufficient archaeological evidence to support this.
