Sino-Korean word from 大形, from 大 (“large”) + 形 (“shape”)
Pronunciation[edit]
- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈtɛ(ː)ʝʌ̹ŋ] ~ [ˈte̞(ː)ʝʌ̹ŋ]
- Phonetic hangul: [대(ː)형/데(ː)형]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
