Old Armenian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From -ից (-icʻ) +‎ (-s, adverbial suffix). The -ից (-icʻ) is either from Proto-Indo-European with a parallel in Old High German zuiski or is the genitive-dative ending of երից (ericʻ), չորից (čʻoricʻ) applied to the rest by analogy.
