The a vowel of present-tense -as plus the t of the Latin/Romance/German passive perfect participle.

Suffix[edit]

-at-

  1. (nominal) -ato One who undergoes the action of the root
    vidi (to see) → vidato (one that is seen)
  2. (adjectival) -ata The passive present participle
    Mi vidas kaj mi estas vidata. ― I see and I'm being seen.
