  1. Frequentative suffix added to a verb to form a verb denoting repetitive action. It may also change the meaning.
    beszél (to talk) → beszélget (to chit-chat)
    kér (to ask for) → kéreget (to beg)

Usage notes[edit]

Member of the -gat/-get suffix cluster. Some verb stems require a linking vowel.

  • -gat is added to back vowel words
  • -get is added to front vowel words
