• The leet spellings of forum and from are homographs, which can create (additional) confusion. Using 4rum to represent from is unintuitive because the leet spelling is no shorter (i.e., it has the same number of characters in it) and because 4rum suggests the pronunciation of 4: [fɔː] + rum: [ɹəm] = forum: [ˈfɔːɹəm]; if used, 4rum is best used only to represent forum, whilst the spelling of from remains unchanged.
