The most common given names in France 1900-2006 [edit]
This is a list of the given names recorded for at least 50 000 persons in France 1900-2006, and the year when the name was most popular. Names in bold occurred at least 200 000 times. Given names are typically fashionable for 10-20 years, and it is often possible to guess a person's approximate age from the name. Only some traditional names, like Jean, Pierre, Anne, Marie, are popular in all age groups.
