Unknown. Possibly related to Sanskrit धावति (dhāvati, to flee, run), Ancient Greek θύω (thúō, I rage, storm, rush in), Latin furō (I rage), suggesting a hypothetical Proto-Indo-European *dʰewH- (shake, roar).[1]
