Cognates with the same ablaut: Proto-Indo-European *-mno- as in Latin alu-mnu-s. Cognates with a different ablaut: Proto-Indo-European *-men- as in Ancient Greek ποιμήν (poimēn, “shepherd”), Proto-Indo-European *-mon- as in Latin sermō.
