The author(s) seem(s) to have never read the original Swadesh texts:
Under "that", Swadesh did never ask for this meaning as "conjunction".
Or: "skin": Swadesh NEVER asked for expressions for "pelt" or "leather".
Or: "neck": As can be proven by el.wiki, the only correct Greek answer is Αυχένας; two more unspecified expressions here are not at all helpful.
Because most of these doublets refer to either the Katharevousa, or νεοελληνική κοινή, there must be two distinguished columns for each.
All this is absolutely unqualified and cannot serve the purpose it has been writen for! HJJHolm 08:31, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

- Stop teaching me about wiki! I HAVE fixed the Swadesh list. The corrections in the particular lists must be made by a native speaker, which I am not. Moreover, the objections deal with basic, systematic mistakes, due to absolutely no knowledge of the sources they pretend to talk about. HJJHolm 09:16, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
I cleaned up the list, essentially as requested above (but with the correct translation for "neck" :-). Katharevousa is obsolete and artificial, and does not need to be here at all. One more comment: It would be easier to avoid misunderstandings of what words to include if the main Swadesh page had a link to some instructions how to properly choose terms for a Swadesh list. Greek languages Swadesh list[edit]
I think we need several swadesh lists for Greek. I was thinking to start a Tsakonian Swadesh list, but why not collect them under a Greek languages list where Ancient, modern and Tsakonian Greek are listed? Tsakonian is regarded as a separate Greek language. What do you think? Fkitselis (talk) 23:16, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
