Category:Germanic derivations
Definition from Wiktionary, a free dictionary
This category is generally meant for borrowings from Germanic languages into non-Germanic languages (either Indo-European, or other ones), that cannot be precisely sourced to individual Germanic languages, either because they occurred in prehistoric times, or because it's pointless to speak of individual Germanic languages at the period when the act of borrowing occurred (such as in Common Germanic era).
Germanic languages that normally inherited the lexeme from Common Germanic lexical stock should use template {{proto}}.
