Purpose of this category

Unless otherwise contested, this category should include all Wiktionary entries that have their etymological origins in leetspeak. This includes prime examples such as warez through to never-used variants (that get their own page for some reason) such as leetspeek. –Gunslinger47 04:03, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

This has been strongly contested several times in the past. Leetspeak terms do not meet our criteria and IIRC, this category has been deleted before. --Connel MacKenzie 04:53, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I am not the category's creator. Regardless of your feelings on leetspeak, the fact is such terms do currently exist in Wiktionary. Having this category allows you to find them all easily - whatever your motives towards them may be. –Gunslinger47 22:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

"newb" mangled enough?

Is "newb" really mangled enough to qualify in this category? It seems to me to just be a shortened form, not really a mangled one. Thanks. --Person12 14:56, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
