Purpose of this category[edit]

Unless otherwise contested, this category should include all Wiktionary entries that have their etymological origins in leetspeak. This includes prime examples such as warez through to never-used variants (that get their own page for some reason) such as leetspeek. –Gunslinger47 04:03, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This has been strongly contested several times in the past. Leetspeak terms do not meet our criteria and IIRC, this category has been deleted before. --Connel MacKenzie 04:53, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not the category's creator. Regardless of your feelings on leetspeak, the fact is such terms do currently exist in Wiktionary. Having this category allows you to find them all easily - whatever your motives towards them may be. –Gunslinger47 22:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RFD passed[edit]

The category has been rfd’d in July 2006, it seems like that is long enough to agree that it should be kept now. H. (talk) 15:49, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kept. See archived discussion. 08:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

"newb" mangled enough?[edit]

Is "newb" really mangled enough to qualify in this category? It seems to me to just be a shortened form, not really a mangled one. Thanks. --Person12 14:56, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
