Usage notes[edit]
Cities in which the mayor is often called "Hizzoner" include Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Newark, New Orleans, New York City, and Philadelphia. The term can, but not always, connote a sense of "hardball" common to American urban politics.
