German[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Middle Low German kesser. A relation with English catch, catcher is possible, though direct borrowing (as assumed by Kluge, edition 24) seems doubtful.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): /ˈkɛʃɐ/
  • (file)

Noun[edit]

Kescher m (strong, genitive Keschers, plural Kescher)

  1. hand net
