PTBNL (plural PTBNLs)

  1. (baseball) Initialism of player to be named later (an unspecified player, either not yet chosen or named publicly, at the time of a trade between teams).

      If the PTBNL is Ben Ford, or if the DBacks plan on signing Womack long-term, then this is definitely a bad trade. As I see it now, I'd say there's a 90% chance the DBacks get the better end (by a tiny tiny margin) and a 10% chance the Pirates get the better end (possibly by a huge margin).
