Borrowed from Gulf Arabic الشارجة (aš-šārja),[1] probably with influence from Persian شارجه (šârje). Compare Arabic اَلشَّارِقَة (aš-šāriqa), Hijazi Arabic الشارقة f (aš-šārga).
