Is the genitive and accusative plural indeed дядей? Russian Wiktionary has only дядь. Moreover, to-day I encountered the form дядьёв. Which is the more mainstream form, which is the archaic one? The uſer hight Bogorm converſation 09:00, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to Zalizniak дядьёв is a legitimate alternative plural genitive for the “uncle” sense: see http://starling.rinet.ru/cgi-bin/morph.cgi?word=[djadja]. I never use it and I don't know if it's archaic or what. дя́дей is the mainstream genitive plural form. As for дя́дь, it must be a colloquial form developed under the influence of тёть. --Vahagn Petrosyan 09:52, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
