Why are there two different etymologies, the second purporting that this word came into Japanese from French (see this edit)? What is the source for this? It seems pretty well accepted that the Japanese and Korean names for bread come from Portuguese seafarers. 24.29.228.33 07:04, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
