Reading of Konnen(こんねん)[edit]

I have never heard of Konnen(こんねん) for the reading of this word. Is this really true? Though yes, the reading of 今年度 is Konnendo(こんねんど). --Carl Daniels 02:33, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I rarely hear of the YOMIGANA:'こんねん'... But, really true.
We may know different YOMIGANAs for several Japanese words.
ex.
* 今年 - こんねん/ことし(this year)
* 昨日 - さくじつ/きのう (yesterday)
* 今日 - こんにち/きょう (these days, recently/today - i.e. the strict meanings are different)
* 明日 - みょうにち/あす (tomorrow)
* 明後日 - みょうごにち/あさって (the day after tomorrow)
In my experiences, first YOMIGANA (on'yomi case) of each words are preferable in FORMAL scenes.
FYI: 今年(こんねん) in Japanese dictionary
