According to ЭССЯ, vol II, page 159, Proto-Slavic *bogodanъ, *bogъdanъ is reconstructable. --Vahag (talk) 17:35, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Good catch; I was looking it up under *bogъdanъ and it wasn't there. Though the form with the medial *-o- is not ancestral to any of the forms listed here. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 17:45, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

- I suppose that when a Serbian Bogdan emigrates and becomes a citizen of Britain or the U.S., then his name will be English. Certainly the Russian/Bulgarian/Ukrainian is Богдан. —Stephen 18:46, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
