It's quite odd, but I can't find any uses of this phrase (or the similar "space of Destot") in any material not connected with the Crucifixion. I've seen claims (like the quote given) that it'll be in "any anatomy book", but, at least according to Google, it isn't. Where did it come from? Who used it first? Interesting questions.
