RfD of two senses:

  1. A motor car made (some time ago) by Ford in the United Kingdom.
Keep, we have Honda, Ford, Toyota, Fiat, Mini, Mini Cooper, Jag, VW, Vauxhall, Chevy, even 98 Oldsmobile. There's plenty of others. --Dmol 01:42, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    "Otherstuff" doesn't apply - we have a very specific CFI for brand names. bd2412 T 22:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. A small town in India.

If we accept these, then præsumably we shall also have to accept many of the other senses catalogued by Wikipedia.  (u):Raifʻhār (t):Doremítzwr﴿ 00:57, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move to RfV. DCDuring TALK 01:57, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, RfV. bd2412 T 22:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
RFV the first and delete the second along with any other "small town" definitions that aren't significant for reasons of etymology. 63.95.64.254 00:55, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What’s the current policy on terms like this automobile sense now?  (u):Raifʻhār (t):Doremítzwr﴿ 19:32, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Find three citations by different authors spanning three years showing use of the word in the abstract (e.i., not indicating in text that it is an automobile), which indicates that people hear the word and think of the car, without being told it's a car. bd2412 T 04:21, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
