Discovery, not creation[edit]

It's not possible to 'create' an anagram, an anagram is always there, whether you notice it or not.

Well, I suppose you can create a word which is an anagram of another word, but I'm reasonably sure that's not what an anagrammatist does.

The correct word is 'discover', or maybe 'find'. 143.92.1.33 01:29, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is true, but it impedes comprehensibility. Moreover, although this sentence 'exists' in the sense that it is a combination of shapes and ideas that must be present in an infinitely large universe, I will claim to have created it, and most native speakers of English will understand what I mean. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 01:34, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How's the def now? Comprehensible? - -sche (discuss) 04:36, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As someone who's anagrammed entire poems, I'd dispute this: it can be a creative and literary process. Equinox 18:26, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Equinox I'd love to hear an anagrammed poem of yours! Dunderdool (talk) 18:35, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
