in wikipedia it takes a capital letter. shouldn't it be renamed ? --Diligent 10:04, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you look, you will find that everything in 'Pedia is in capitals, and so it is not a reliable guide. Wiktionary only uses capitals with specific words that are normally encountered in capitalized form in texts, such as Names of people and places, and other proper nouns with their corresponding derived and related terms. A quick search through newspapers and books shows that "art nouveau" is almost always in lower case. -- ALGRIF talk 10:42, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you. Compared to French, English has a tendency to use capitals a lot (as English vs. anglais), here, it is the opposite ;-) Without the capital letter, art nouveau simply means 'new art', with, it is the style. --Diligent 13:09, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
