Isn't there an earlier usage of this term in Navajo culture? I thought there was some discussion of this here earlier, but now I cannot find it in the history. 71.66.97.228 19:14, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- It is just a regular Navajo word. Literally it means the place of the evil spirits, or among the evil spirits. It’s a translation of the understanding of the English word hell. Before contact with Christian missionaries, it could have been used just like any word can be used, but it was not a part of Navajo religion. Or no one may have used it at all, if no one felt the need to speak of a place where evil spirits live. Today Navajo Christians use it to mean hell, but it is just ordinary Navajo language. —Stephen (Talk) 19:49, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I meant that I thought there was discussion earlier of the Navajo concept of the First World. Maybe that was a different term and I have forgotten which one. 71.66.97.228 21:34, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
