Etymology of confuse[edit]
"Con" probably originates as stated, from a term that refers to the joining of two or more entities (thoughts, objects, etc). "Fuse" originates from the a term that is reference to a musket fuse, or a "spindle of hemp". "Fusion" refers to the creation of something new. e.g. in music there is a form of Jazz referered to as "Fusion", in modern dance there a form of Jazz Dance (ala Bob Fosse) called "Fusion" and in Physics, where a Mole of some new element is created from 2 Moles of some other element. e.g. hydrogen is converted to helium through fusion.
