Pertaining to evangelism[edit]

Widsith deleted:

of, or relating to evangelism

I agree that a better word for this sense is evangelistic. However I think we can find plenty of attestations for this sense of evangelical. Could we put it back in? --Hroðulf 10:56, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be covered by sense 4. Widsith 11:13, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pertaining to[edit]

SemperBlotto changed my 'of or pertaining to' to 'of, or relating to'. However this was reverted to pertaining to without explanation. SemperBlotto's version seems more accessible. What is the reason for the revert? --Hroðulf 10:56, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just economy; ‘of or relating to’ is amply covered by ‘pertaining to’. You can put it back in if you feel strongly about it, I don't think it's necessary though. Widsith 11:13, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

I'm not an expert for making translation tables. Therefore I just put it here: German evangelisch covers the senses (1.) pertaining to the gospel, and (2.) Protestant, particularly Lutheran. German evangelikal covers the sense (3.) pertaining to evangelicalism. Kolmiel (talk) 18:55, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
