Definition[edit]

I'm not sure this definition is correct. Generally human rights is something more basic than liberty or freedom. For example, prisoners or convicts may not have those civil rights, but they are entitled to human rights. — This unsigned comment was added by 70.218.208.133 (talk) at 07:44, 15 September 2006‎.

Plurale tantum?[edit]

Is this really a plurale tantum? Can I not refer to something as 'a human right'? — This unsigned comment was added by 221.221.111.247 (talk) at 13:57, 15 July 2007‎.

I wondered about that too, but the OED does have an entry for this. I reworded the definition so that it refers to the set of rights. — SGconlaw (talk) 12:44, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
