Well, my sources say that Croatian/Serbian (deprecated template usage) kanta < German Kanne < Latin canna < Ancient Greek κάννα (kánna) < Akkadian 𒄀 (qanû) < Sumerian 𒄀𒈾 (GI.NA) ^_^
Ottoman Turkish form looks suspiciously close though, but given the it's minimal relatedness with Western cultural sphere to me looks more likely that Turkish form is a Slavic borrowing, than the other way around.
