Talk:kurwa

I suggest it should be noted that kurwa is a very strong swear, comparable to english "whore", not just the "usual" word for prostitute - also it is as versitale in its use and expresive nature as the word "fuck" is in english

It has similar meaning in hungarian ;) [Kurva anyád]

should this be linked to [kurva] ? (I'm not familiar with wiktionary, so haven't done so).

Yes, it probably had "bitch, slut" overtones all the way back to Common Slavic period 1400 yeary ago ^_^. Click on the link to appendix in the ===Etymology=== section - it will give you the list of cognates in other Slavic languages, and links to Romanian and Hungarian loanwords. --Ivan Štambuk 07:36, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology is *keh₂-. See the "whore" derivatives therein. I fixed it Zezen (talk) 13:06, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kurwa the word[edit]

Kurwa is also in Hungarian kurvá as already stated in a different comment, i don’t know how to put it in here, so maybe add that it’s used in Hungarian too? L.H 009 (talk) 15:45, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not spelled "kurwa" in Hungarian but kurva. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 16:54, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
