Vietnamese[edit]

Just added: two Vietnamese equivalent expressions (not really appropriate under "translations" as the meaning is slightly different, but basically the same idea). 24.29.228.33 02:47, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually translations for idioms don't have to be literal (they rarely are)- they just have to exist in the language and convey the same general meaning. Nadando 02:56, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent; I didn't know that. The meaning really is essentially the same. 24.29.228.33 02:56, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Russian (origin?)[edit]

In Russian the idiom как с гуся вода means not to care about smth./so. and I personally find the similarity astonishing. May it have been the inspiration for the English one? How can the relation be prouved? Bogorm 14:09, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
